License to Carry Classes

Learn to legally carry a handgun (concealed or open) in Texas! The Fort Bliss Rod & Gun Club offers a 4-hour License to Carry (LTC) course taught by NRA and Texas DPS-certified instructors every 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, covering the written exam and live-fire qualification needed to meet your state requirement in one sitting.

Registration begins at 8am, and the class starts at 8:30am (first-come, first served, so arrive early!). The class costs $65/person.

Please bring:

• Eye/ear protection (Pro Shop has extra if needed)
• A notepad
• A handgun (revolver .32+ or semi-auto .380/9mm+, 5-round minimum) - if you need a rental, they will be available.
• 50 rounds of ammo (available at Pro Shop)

Additional notes:

• This is not a beginner class. You must already know how to safely load, operate, and fire a handgun under time pressure.
• Helpful tip: Start your license application early at Texas.gov (application, fees, fingerprinting appointment) to shorten your wait!
• Having a License to Carry in Texas means that your license is honored in 33 states, is valid for 5 years, and you get FREE STATE REGISTRATION if you're an Active Duty Soldier.
