Boat NM is a Free one day course presented by NM State Parks Marine Enforcement Officers.
The course is classroom based and designed for anyone who wants to operate a power boat regardless of if they own it or not. New Mexico allows children as young as 13 to operate a boat.
The course covers:
1. Knowing your Boat
2. Preparing to get underway
3. Operating your boat safely
4. The legal requirements of boating
5. What to do in a boating emergency
6. Enjoying Water Sports with your boat
The course is nationally accredited and meets the education requirements of nearly every state.Upon successful completion, the student will receive a boater education card that never expires,a certificate of completion, and a coupon for 2 nights of camping for the price of one at a NM State Park.
