Overview

The Roberto Loeza Soldier Activity Center, the first of its kind in the Army, is located on Central Fort Bliss. This facility serves Family and MWR patrons ages 18 and older.

This 25,000-square-foot facility features:

  • A 20-foot climbing and bouldering wall
  • A 4,000-square-foot outdoor pool with a patio deck
  • A multipurpose recreation room
  • Wi-Fi accessibility
  • Snack vending machines are available.
  • Game room featuring four Xbox & PS4s, 12 computer stations with Internet access, seven CAC card enabled computers, eight Alienware gaming computers Wi-Fi access, multiple televisions, fun lighting and music
  • Video games for in-room use (ID required).

The Fort Bliss Outdoor Recreation program, extends their services to Soldiers with equipment rentals and sign-ups for adventure trips.

The SAC is also home of the Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) program.

Pool (open for patrons 18+) (Closed for the season)

The outdoor pool at the Soldier Activity Center is a 4,000-square-foot swimming facility designed for recreational use. The pool is seasonal open from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. 

Hours of operation are:

Closed Sun/Mon (Pool is open Sat & Sun (12:00-7:00) & Mon (2:00-7:00).

Tues-Fri 2pm-7pm

Sat 12p-7pm

All guests must be ages 18 and older.

Outdoor Recreation Program

Fort Bliss Outdoor Recreation provides several high and low intensity activities which offer Soldiers, veterans, friends and family the chance to get out and explore, meet new people, learn new skills, challenge themselves and relax. Rental services are available seven days a week from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.

BOSS -- Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers

BOSS is the connect for the single Soldiers in El Paso. All in all, the BOSS Program is a Soldier led program. The President of the program is in the military and it is Soldiers helping other Soldiers. BOSS program is set up at Soldier Activity Center, where most of the BOSS Representative meetings are held.
